Great history for sure. What surprised me was the banquet options! My wife works for a company that chose The Henry Ford for their client appreciation party. The space was amazing! The food we even better! Service was above and beyond, and we had a great Saturday afternoon enjoying great food, drinks, and company. They do weddings also, take advantage!
Overall an excellent experience!
If you are going here more than once in a year, it's VERY worth-it to get a membership. One time when we joined they applied any tickets purchased toward your membership if purchased on the same day (no idea if they are still running this deal or not). And the last 2 times we joined they gave 2 free passes with no expiration date.
World-class museum with some of the most impressive American artifacts available anywhere. Combined with Greenfield Village, where many original American buildings have been painstakingly moved (the Wright Brothers bicycle shop, for example), this is probably one of the best American history museums in the world (and I grew up right outside of Washington DC).
A unique look at the technological, automotive, and industrial past of the United States that every American should experience. An amazing open layout with exhibits large and small, from tiny electronics to an entire house. You'll need a day to see it all. Kids love it. Adults love it. A Michigan gem.
This is an excellent museum. The exhibitions are laid out very well and also very informative. I was very impressed too with the museum staff: friendly, knowledgeable and eager to answer our questions. It was also easy to park. The insiders tour was worth the additional 15 dollars because we only had four in our group. If it had been 20 then I don't think it would be as informative or unique experience. We had lunch at the replica diner and the meatloaf dinner was delicious - quite a pleasant surprise. I definitely recommend a trip to this museum there are so many unexpected treasures, one wonders how the Ford's managed to get them for the collection. Lastly, don't just expect cars - there's so much more that we were in awe of.
This was a great museum to visit. It's loaded with an eclectic collection of curiosities from Lincoln's Assassination Chair from Fords Theater, to all sorts of vehicles, planes, trains, cars, motor homes, farm equipment, the House of Tomorrow, machinery from different era's and many other things to capture your mind. If want an idea of how we have grown and to see the genius of generations past, you'll not be disappointed here. Great visit.
A truly wonderful experience for young and old, and we'll work the price of admission, especially when coupled with a family membership.
